Sorry, Justin, But Your Old Man Stole Your Thunder

Delightful as it was to watch Justin and his inner circle stroll into Rideau Hall to be sworn in, this is how it's really done:

Richardson, Jamieson, Trudeau, Turner, Marchand and Pelletier

Kind of reminds me of the opening of Reservoir Dogs, Mound.

For some reason, Lorne, I was thinking more along the lines of a Guy Ritchie flick.

Except the son had his fellow Canadians surrounding him up the walkway cheering him on in person. That counted a lot with me.

Yeah, Deb, some of them were real scrappers before they hit politics - Trudeau and Marchand especially. Their wars against Duplessis and with the Quebec labour movement demanded a lot of toughness.

You know, when I think of the Charter and how it was mainly responsible for restraining Harper's excesses over the past decade, I think not just of PET but Lester Pearson for it was Pearson who recruited Trudeau, Marchand, Lalonde and Pelletier to the party. He saw in them the future of the Liberal Party, its renewal, and he was right on the money.

It's also telling of Harper that he didn't recruit and groom a stable of potential, capable successors. He did nothing for the future of the CPC and they're going to pay dearly for that.

totally on the Mark Mound! Sowing seeds for the future is important for any party to thrive and succeed.
and really Harper as a paranoid dictator doesnt want to surround himself with star material, as it will outshine him. I truly believe Harper wants the party to fail now that he has resigned. He has no interest in seeing the conservative party to thrive and move forward. AT least not for a few years.
