Sphincter of the Week - Surprise, He's a Brit; No Surprise, He's a Tory

Our Sphincter of the Week award goes to Midhurst county councillor, John Cherry, a Tory of course, for his opposition to a proposal by Brixton's Durand Academy to expand to a disused school building in Stedham, West Sussex.  I'll let councillor Cherry take it from here:

"Ninety-seven per cent of pupils will be black or Asian. It depends what type of Asian. If they’re Chinese they’ll rise to the top. If they’re Indian they’ll rise to the top. If they’re Pakistani they won’t.
"There are certain nationalities where hard work is highly valued. There are certain nationalities where they are uncertain what this hard work is all about.
"If the children are not allowed out of the site then it will make them want to escape into the forest – it will be a sexual volcano.
"Stockwell is a coloured area – I have no problem with that. To be honest, I would far rather Durand took over a secondary school in London rather than shoving everybody here."

No word yet on whether the good councillor John Cherry shares any common lineage with our own outspoken Cherry.

I blame his parents. His middle name: "Lorraine".

Probably he was incessantly teased about it, since it is a girl's name. Became excessively self-conscious about sexual matters and now look at the result!

Lovely fellow. Of course, in fine ignoramus fashion, he confuses nationality with ethnicity. I suspect he won't be a councillor much longer.

Yeah, he's a real piece of work. As for his future, he won his seat by some 78% of the vote. UKIP and all that.

The picture you have is of Michael Gove the Education Minister. For some reason the NS used that as they couldn't find a snap of the real culprit.
The real culprit is pictured here

Hr looks much more the part and has resigned and apologised. His one redeeming act is that his apology is a real apology and not one of those fake ones we are used to getting.
“My remarks about Durand Academy, as reported in the Mail on Sunday today, were plainly wrong,” he said.

“They were thoughtless and extremely foolish.

“I unreservedly apologise and withdraw them. I very much regret the distress this has caused.”

It's a shame Canadian Conservatives don't act like this when caught being arseholes.

Many thanks, Harebell, for the correction and particulars of Cherry's apology. I found a somewhat better photo of John Cherry. I wonder if he's a tippler. Seems like a curious outburst from any reasonably astute politician.
