When It Comes to Steve, There Is No Bottom

Our mendacious prime minister, Sideshow Steve Harper, was practically bursting with glee yesterday over the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.

Harper, true to his vile form, issued a statement.  “At this key juncture, I hope the people of Venezuela can now build for themselves a better, brighter future based on the principles of freedom, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights.”

Freedom, democracy, the rule of law, Steve, really?   All those things you treat as obstacles to be swept away?   But, since you raised the subject, let's recall Venezuela's last election, the fourth for Chavez.  It was just last October and, for Chavez, it was a squeaker.

Better than 80% of eligible Venezuelans turned out to vote (it's voluntary there).   Chavez came away with just over 55% of the vote compared to 44% for his rightwing opponent, Henrique Capriles.   That's an 11 point spread, Steve, and, in my book, that's a pretty free and democratic outcome.

By contrast, Steve, three out of five Canadians didn't vote for you and yet you rule (you don't govern, Steve, you're a ruler) as though they did.  You rig election results, you gag the public service, you gag the Canadian Forces, you bury your administration within omnibus bills.  You're the Master of Secrecy and Deception and yet you contend it's Venezuela that has a democracy and freedom deficit?

You know what's democratic, Steve?   Respecting elections where the winner gets a genuine majority of support and emerges with an 11-point victory over his opponent.  It's not the promotion of democracy you're after, Steve, it's the advancement of your twisted ideological agenda.

Sure their opposition leader lost by a larger margin than you won a majority government on, Steve, but that's just a reflection of how damaged democracy and freedom has become under our own Parliamentary debacle.

Swine.

Yeah. One day we'll rub his nose in his hypocrisy. When we go to jeer at him as he serves life in prison for war crimes.

It's interesting to hear Harper sing the praises of democracy -- and gloat over his 39% support.

Harper was Policy Chief for his, Northern Foundation Party of 1989. Harper's Dictatorship doesn't surprise me in the least. Most Dictators, have the same typo personalities. They lie, deceive, thieve, are corrupt, use dirty tactics, dirty politics and, all of them cheat to win.

Harper never did have, a job action program. Of course Harper reneged, on the job training program. Harper has permitted all company's, to hire cheap foreign labor. What the hell does Harper need with those programs? Harper's jobs aren't for Canadians. That was never Harper's intentions.

Harper is planning China in the rich resources, of the High Arctic. Suddenly Harper no longer needs a military in the High North. No battleships, icebreaker ships, no fighter jets, no new military trucks, half tracks, no nothing. Of course, the ships came in way over budget. It was never in Harper's many plots to build them, in the first place. Even our military at home, has been forgotten.

How any self respecting, decent and good persons, could support a monster, such as Harper, boggles the mind.

Harper looks after Harper. He has not done one, decent thing for the people in this country. Harper lies and he steals, everything from the people, he can get his dirty hands on.
